Trust Agent

The People app has three equally important parts: 1) It is a native app replacing contacts… instead of a list with contact information, it is all about what people in your network are. 2) It is a community and a way to manage networks of high trust. 3) It is a trust agent, a type of natural agent built on top of a network of trust.

Today, after a deep conversation with David Sharam, I want to talk about Trust Agents (David suggested this term) and share a use case I really care about.

First, let me share insight from Neurum: physical activity data has predictive power to identify depression or mania. This is huge; it means that by just wearing an Apple Watch or similar tracker, you may, with the right algorithm, get a notification when you are about to get depressed.

Most people cannot self-assess their mental health issues and, unfortunately, do not ask for help when they need it the most.

OK… now about the People App. Imagine you have your core network of trusted people in your life. Now you will have an option to share your vitals data with them. Not for them to see it daily… only a few people in our life care to congratulate us about every run we did.

But to create awareness, share trends or achievements time-to-time automatically, but more importantly, get that notification: hey, you need to check on Ilya; he seems to be much less active in the last 6 weeks.

Imagine what Trust Agent could do for the reach and care in our networks. We could get a nudge when we need it the most, and not from AI, but from a friend who cares about us.

People who are struggling disappear and lose touch. With the new generation of purposeful social media, we can create a system of support that actually works.

Trust Agent is all about leveraging data from a high-trust network in a way that is beneficial to the people involved. You can imagine many examples, and I already shared a few. Next, we want to build a conversational (voice first) interface to the data that is usually siloed and easily overlooked.

Say you just got that notification, you friend is not doing well. You reached out, he is grateful for the conversation, but really needs professional help. Now you can ask the agent: my friend is struggling with what seems to be a depression, could you help someone who can help in my extended network?

And get immediate response with vector databased querying updates and recommendations form ~20k people. Suddenly you have specific recommendation with name, phone number, website, and a few words from a person you know.

This is what People App will unlock for your and your friends. We just need to built it.
