Ownership

In People App, when you see a post that does not make sense, you can just swipe left on it, and it will disappear. Importantly, you will have a chance to elaborate why, and a person whose post swiped left a lot will get a notification. This way, we create an easy way to adjust what you see and make experience better for everyone.

We want signal over noise, so we design around the members’ needs.

Let me give you an example from old social media. I love my wife, and she is an art blogger on Instagram. I would like to see and like everything she is positing there. But no matter how much I express my preference to Instagram, it still optimizes for showing me something else over her posts. So today, to be able to catch up, I have to go to her profile, open posts, and like everything… so this what I do.

My feed does not belong to me on Instagram; it is not aligned with my best interests.

People App is designed to show me everything from my trusted network by default. We do not promote viral content and we have no advertisers. We are the social network that empowers non-influencers. People App designed for busy people by busy people.

Everything on People app is intentional and have a clear ownership. We believe this way we can create a high-trust environment for communities to thrive. And for you to be able to share your thoughts with ease.

For the same reason, the profiles on People app are of real people. We do lightweight Know Your Customer process like a digital bank would do. Our verified mark is trustworthy: you know you engaging real people.

We conscious that People App may grow slower because of this approach and we value quality of connections over quantity of accounts.
